FMi Work has commenced on Vancouver Island Health Project
Facility Management information (FMi) service relating to the Saanich OR project is currently under way.
Summit BIM has been retained by Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA), assisting the Consulting Team in establishing the protocols and processes required to work in a BIM environment and providing FMi services.
FMi services deliver a unified digital as-built for the Facility Maintenance and Operations Teams. All the usual paper drawings and documents are provided as PDF files and linked to the relevant objects in the models along with any required additional FMO data: tag numbers, warranty dates, maintenance cycles, etc. Images of walls, floors and ceilings prior to concealment can also be attached.
The resulting as-built models are reconfigured to display the data in a way that supports the needs of the FMO team; for example, objects coloured to reflect their service cycle, type, system, maintenance responsibility or any other criteria deemed necessary and useful. All of the collected data is in compliance with COBie2.

Abbotsford Collegiate Under Construction
Summit BIM has been working with School District #34 and Unitech Construction Management on the Abbotsford Collegiate, due to be completed in August 2012.
Summit BIM is once again providing FMi services to support the FMO teams. Our services on this project include attaching the typical as-built deliverables as PDF files to the relevant objects in the model, along with additional meta data, warranty dates, life cycle, tag numbers, etc. We are working in collaboration with Multivista on this project. Multivista will be providing images of all MEP services prior to concealment and hand-over condition images, all of which will be linked to the models.
The result: A single data source for all facility information provided by the Consultant / Construction Team on the project.
